I have always been interested in complementary health modalities and decided to qualify as a Bowen Therapist at The Bowen Academy of Australia (Bowtech) in 2004, when I experiencing some remarkable results with Bowen in my family. After being treated with the Bowen Technique, the rapid healing of my husband's persistent tennis elbow and my elder son's ear infection convinced me that Bowen had much merit and deserved my further attention and study.
Having been raised in Germany where complementary health modalities are used hand-in-hand with standard medicine, I was well exposed to other options and could see that Bowen offered a novel and unique approach.
I studied the
Bowen Technique under
Dr Jaimini Raniga M.B.B.S (Lon), LMSSA (Lon), Dip Homeopathic Medicine (Syd),
Dip Unani Tibb Medicine (SA), Dip Bowen Therapeutic Technique (Syd),
Dr Raniga qualified as a medical doctor 26 years ago from London University and is a practitioner of Integrated Medicine having studied and qualified in various traditional health systems and complementary modalities. She is the proprietor of Sivanna Integrated Health Centre in Cape Town.
Dr Raniga has worked in Europe's largest Holistic Health Clinics, The Hale Clinic and The Integrated Health Centre in London. She also worked in General Practice and Integrated Medicine in Australia, Sydney and Melbourne, for 14 years.
Dr Raniga is one of the international instructors for the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, and is the founder member of the Bowen Therapy Association of South Africa.
After qualifying as a Bowen Therapist, I have undertaken the following additional Bowen courses
Bowen for the Immobile, Stroke and Chronic Fatigue Patient
Bowen for Sports Injuries
Bowen Advanced Course
I have had a significant amount of experience treating stroke patients and have seen good results.

I am also qualified in Anatomy and Physiology, and First Aid.
In over 5 years of practice, I have witnessed many miracles and developed great respect for the uniqueness of each individual. I focus on healing rather than treating. It is my aim to help people to become pain-free and healthy so that they can enjoy a good quality of life.

Along with maintaining my private Bowen practice, I also run a self-catering holiday cottage, Bushman Cottage, in the Strand.
